1. Data Collection & Permissions
Prepped ("we", "our") collects the minimum data required to function. We process data from the following sources:
- Google Calendar (API): We use official Google APIs to fetch your upcoming events, meeting titles, times, and attendee lists.
- Gmail (On-Screen Content): When you request email context for a meeting, our extension reads email subjects and snippets directly from your open Gmail tab. This processing happens locally on your device in real-time. We do not create any persistent index, and we do not transmit your email content to our servers.
- User Account: We access your email address via Google OAuth to identify your account within the extension. We do not transmit your email address to our servers.
- Usage Data: We collect anonymous, non-personally identifiable usage statistics (e.g., "settings updated", "notification clicked") to improve stability.
2. Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with the following trusted processors required for operation:
- Gumroad: Used to validate license keys for premium features. License verification is handled by sending your license key to Gumroad; your email address is not transmitted for this purpose.
- PostHog: Used to collect anonymous usage analytics for product improvement. No personal email content or calendar details are sent to PostHog.
- Google APIs: Used for secure authentication and calendar data retrieval.
3. Data Storage
- Local Storage: Your settings, meeting notes, license keys, and cached data are stored locally on your device using Chrome's encrypted
storage.local API.
- No Remote Database: We do not maintain a proprietary database of your personal calendar or email information.
4. User Rights
You may revoke the extension's access to your data at any time by uninstalling the extension or by revoking permissions in your Google Account security settings. Upon uninstallation, all local data (including license keys and cache) is permanently deleted from your device.
